On the night of May 20, 2019, police in St. Louis, Missouri, were called to the Mark Twain neighborhood following reports of a shooting. Officers arrived at the scene in the 4900 block of Arlington Avenue around 9:25 p.m., where they discovered a male victim lying in a vacant lot. The man, identified as 25-year-old Durwin Harris, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the incident.
