On a spring evening in 2019, the life of 19-year-old Koreyion Brown, a Black male, was tragically cut short in the St. Louis suburb of Wellston. On May 13th, officers from the North County Police Cooperative were dispatched to the 1500 block of Wellston Place around 6:30 p.m. following a report of a person down. Upon their arrival, they discovered Brown's body; he had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident prompted the activation of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis
