In the early evening hours of a north Saint Louis neighborhood, tragedy struck as 40-year-old Stanley Sparkling was fatally wounded in a brazen drive-by shooting. The incident unfolded at approximately 5:30 p.m. as Sparkling was seated on the porch of a residence on the same block where he lived.
