In the early summer of 2016, a promising young life was abruptly ended. Deon Smith, an 18-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on Thursday, June 2, 2016, in the Moline Acres area of St. Louis, Missouri. The grim discovery of his body was made in the front yard of a local residence.
