In the summer of 2015, a young man’s life was cut short on a Friday night in north St. Louis. Marquis Strickland, a 24-year-old male, was attending an event on the 1300 block of N. Garrison Avenue at approximately 8:30 p.m. when gunfire erupted. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his back, thigh, abdomen, and triceps. Although he attempted to flee the scene, one of the shooters pursued him, continuing to fire.
