In the early hours of October 5, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the pre-dawn stillness on Edmondson Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. When the violence subsided, 43-year-old Garcia Stevenson, a Black male, lay dead at the scene. The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:54 a.m. in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue, also left two other men, aged 22 and 23, with injuries.
