In the late morning of June 2, 2022, tragedy struck in Temple Hills, Maryland, when 27-year-old Bernard Lewis Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway. When Prince George's County police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Lewis outdoors, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the location.
