In the pre-dawn hours of New Year's Day 2022, the life of 16-year-old Desmond Canada was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire that also claimed the life of 17-year-old Bernard Thomas. The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Gelston Drive in Baltimore, Maryland, marking a violent start to the new year. A third teenager, a 16-year-old male, was also wounded in the attack but survived.
