In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Suitland, Maryland, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 4400 block of Rena Road. When the echoes faded, 28-year-old Anthony Thomas III of Capitol Heights was found inside his vehicle, having been shot multiple times. Police responded to the scene at approximately 1 a.m. on December 18, 2021, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit are investigating the case.
