On the evening of May 29, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Suitland, Maryland neighborhood, leaving one man dead and another wounded. Bruce Coley, a 43-year-old Black male from Mitchellville, was shot and killed in the 3200 block of Swann Road at approximately 6:20 p.m. When patrol officers from the Prince George's County Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered both Mr. Coley and another adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
