In the early morning hours of August 21, 2021, Isaac Caldwell Jr., a 62-year-old man, was fatally shot in East Baltimore. The incident occurred on the 2100 block of East Preston Street as Caldwell was waiting for a bus to take him to his job as a driver for the Maryland Transit Administration's Mobility paratransit service. Police found him unresponsive at approximately 4:05 a.m., and he was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
