In the summer of 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm in a south Baltimore neighborhood, leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. Bernard Knotts, a 26-year-old Black male, was found shot on August 10, 2021, in the 4200 block of Thayer Court. The incident was reported at approximately 7:36 p.m., a time when daylight was beginning to fade, casting long shadows over the city streets.
