In the late evening hours of August 3, 2020, the community of Lansdowne, Maryland, was shaken by an act of violence that claimed the life of 45-year-old Ira Douglas Dixon. A resident of the nearby Halethorpe area, Dixon was discovered deceased in the roadway at the intersection of Oak Road and Maple Road.
