In the summer of 2019, a wave of violence swept through Baltimore, and amidst the turmoil, the life of 19-year-old DeAiris Jones was tragically cut short. On June 22nd of that year, in the 800 block of North Port Street, the young Black/African American man was found shot. His death marked another grim statistic in a particularly violent weekend and week for the city, which saw multiple shootings and fatalities.
