On the evening of May 1, 2019, tragedy struck in the Saint Joseph's neighborhood of West Baltimore when 20-year-old Dashawn Shelton, a Black male, was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 10:04 p.m. in the 1 S Morley St area, where Shelton was discovered with gunshot wounds.
