On a Wednesday night in April 2019, the life of 21-year-old Kevon Dix, a promising Black male Morgan State University student, was tragically cut short. The incident occurred around 10:23 p.m. in the 3400 block of Mary Avenue in Northeast Baltimore. Dix was leaving a friend's apartment and had just gotten into his car when he was fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man, aged 29, also suffered a gunshot wound to the leg in the same incident.
