On a summer afternoon in Baltimore, Maryland, tragedy struck when 39-year-old Dontay Hughes, a Black/African American male, was fatally wounded. On July 3, 2016, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 2200 block of Poplar Grove Street shortly after 4 p.m.. Upon arrival, they discovered Hughes suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.
