In the autumn of 2015, a dispute between two acquaintances in Capitol Heights, Maryland, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 48-year-old Cofield Richardson Jr. and leading to a manhunt for his alleged killer. Richardson, a Black man with Native American heritage, was shot and killed outside on his street on the evening of October 7, 2015.
