In the early morning hours of September 10, 2017, the life of 22-year-old Garrett Burton, a rising rapper known in the Baton Rouge music scene as Da Real Gee Money, was tragically cut short. Burton was discovered in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Dallas Drive around 1:30 a.m., having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
