In the early hours of a Monday morning, the quiet of a Fort Washington, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On April 25, 2011, at approximately 1:02 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Cady Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered 28-year-old James Anthony Jackson Jr. lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
