In the afternoon hours of Wednesday, April 19, 2017, a chaotic scene unfolded behind a barber shop and several homes on Plank Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Two men, their faces obscured by ski masks, were seen running together. One of these men was 36-year-old Letroyed Brown, an African-American male. For reasons that remain unknown to law enforcement, the individual running alongside Brown suddenly turned on him, firing a gun multiple times.
