In the late hours of a Sunday evening in New Orleans, the life of a young Black/African American man, Kenner Allen, was cut tragically short. On March 12, 2017, the 26-year-old was fatally shot in the 7200 block of Chef Menteur Highway. The New Orleans Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the area and discovered Allen unresponsive inside an apartment complex with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
