In the warm evening of July 7, 2016, in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, 55-year-old Kevin Foots Sr. was fatally wounded by gunfire. The incident occurred on Jasmine Street, where police would later find him. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Foots succumbed to his injuries. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, he was a man known to his family and friends, who was suddenly and violently taken from them.
