In the early hours of July 6, 2016, the life of Matthew Spooner, a 35-year-old Caucasian male from Picayune, Mississippi, was cut short in New Orleans. At approximately 1:12 a.m., officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 2100 block of North Miro Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Spooner unconscious, having sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
