On an April evening in 2015, the life of 29-year-old Brittney Mills was tragically cut short in her Baton Rouge, Louisiana, apartment. On April 24th, Mills, who was eight months pregnant, was fatally shot after answering a knock at her door. Her 10-year-old daughter was present in the apartment at the time but was unharmed.
