18 year old shot and killed in drive by shooting On the evening of March 16, 2015, Steve G. Brackens III, an 18-year-old African-American male, was standing outside a house in the 1200 block of Sumner Street in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans. Just a year prior, in May of 2014, he had graduated from L.B. Landry High School and was at the beginning of his adult life. He was in the company of two other males, aged 18 and 70, at approximately 8:45 p.m. when the fatal incident unfolded.
