In the winter of 2016, a young man’s life was tragically cut short in New Orleans. Eighteen-year-old Tyre Smith, a Black male, was last seen on the evening of Saturday, December 3, 2016, in the 4000 block of Duplessis Street. Concern grew when he failed to attend school the following Monday, and all calls to his cellphone went directly to voicemail. The New Orleans Police Department issued a missing person alert, describing him as 5'7' tall and weighing about 142 pounds.
