On January 1, 2021, Michael Jenkins, a 19-year-old resident of Fresno, California, was tragically shot and killed in what became the city's first homicide of the year. The incident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. near the intersection of Olive and Peach Avenues. Jenkins, along with 28-year-old Cruz Garcia, was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
