Millyon Colquitt, a 16-year-old teenager from Willowbrook, California, tragically lost his life on October 15, 2020. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near East 122nd Street and Maple Avenue. Millyon was in a car with four other teenagers when an unknown assailant approached and began shooting. The car, which was being driven slowly down the street as the group searched for an address, was struck multiple times by gunfire. The vehicle eventually crashed into a parked car at the intersection of Maple Avenue and East 124th Street. Millyon and his 17-year-old cousin, Jamelle Edward Hill Jr., were found dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds to their upper torsos. The other three teenagers in the car were unharmed.

Millyon was an 11th-grade student at Centennial High School in Compton and was known for his kindhearted, humorous, and generous nature. He was also an outstanding varsity basketball player. His cousin, Jamelle, was a senior at Gardena High School and a standout varsity football player being scouted by colleges. The double homicide shocked the community and prompted calls for an end to senseless violence.

In the aftermath of the shooting, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the gunman. Despite the reward and appeals from family members and authorities, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau continues to investigate the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward. The community remains hopeful that justice will be served for Millyon and Jamelle.
