On July 7, 2018, two-year-old Jason "Jace" Alexander tragically died in Fresno, California, after accidentally shooting himself with a Sig Sauer semi-automatic pistol. The gun belonged to Oscar Ramos, a roommate of Jace's father, Jonathan Alexander. On that fateful day, Jace was left in the care of Jena Moya, Jonathan's fiancée, while Jonathan was at work.
