On February 20, 2018, Johnathan Navarez, a 20-year-old resident of Lynwood, California, was found dead in Colton, CA. His body was discovered inside a vehicle on Reche Canyon Road, prompting an immediate investigation by the Colton Police Department. Initially considered a suspicious death, the case was quickly reclassified as a homicide after it was determined that Navarez had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
