Rahman Newsome, a 21-year-old resident of Fresno, California, tragically lost his life on October 13, 2017, in a drive-by shooting. On that fateful evening, Newsome was playing video games at a friend's house in Central Fresno. As he left to catch a bus around 6:45 p.m., a vehicle approached him near the intersection of W. Mayfair Drive and E. Normal Avenue. An individual inside the car opened fire, shooting Newsome multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Despite the immediate response from law enforcement, Newsome succumbed to his injuries at the scene, just months shy of his high school graduation.
