Gary DeJuanta-Johnny Cromwell, a 19-year-old from Fairfield, California, tragically lost his life on August 20, 2017. The incident occurred during a shootout between two vehicles in Fairfield. According to police reports, officers responded to multiple calls about a shooting near Madison and Broadway streets around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a crashed vehicle with two occupants, including Cromwell, who had sustained gunshot injuries.
He was transported to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Christopher Vanning Johnson, 22, and Jesus Gutierrez Jr., 19, both from Fairfield, were apprehended on suspicion of homicide, shooting into a vehicle, and carrying a concealed firearm. Additionally, Jordan Hendricks, 18, who was a passenger in the car with Cromwell, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm in public. The police recovered four firearms during the investigation and were also looking into a possible connection between this incident and another shooting that occurred on August 11, 2017, in Fairfield.
