On a tragic Easter Sunday in 2010, the life of Eric Michael Everett Sly Jr., a 26-year-old Black man, was cut short by gun violence in New Orleans, Louisiana. On April 4th, at approximately 1:00 PM, Eric was outside in the Milan neighborhood, engaged in the simple act of washing his car on General Taylor Street, when he was brutally shot multiple times.
