Isaiah Treyvon Rogers, a 17-year-old resident of Westmont, California, tragically lost his life on May 25, 2017. Isaiah was fatally shot while walking with his brother and a friend in the 1200 block of West 95th Street, just a few blocks from his home. As they were walking, a vehicle approached them and began to chase the group. The teens split up and ran in different directions, with Isaiah heading towards his home on West 93rd Street.
Unfortunately, the vehicle caught up with him, and he was shot in his driveway, where he collapsed and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Isaiah's mother, Lakisha Walker, described him as a loving and helpful person who had aspirations of joining the Army. Both she and the investigators confirmed that Isaiah was not involved in any gang activities. Despite this, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and investigators have not been able to determine whether the assailants got out of the car to shoot Isaiah or fired at him from within the vehicle. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has been actively investigating the case, but as of now, there have been no arrests or identified suspects.
The investigation into Isaiah's death has been challenging due to the lack of concrete evidence and witness testimonies. The authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in solving the case. Isaiah's family continues to seek justice for their son, hoping that someone will provide the crucial information needed to apprehend those responsible for his untimely death.
