In the late hours of a Saturday night in eastern New Orleans, a young Hispanic man named Jose Sanchez, aged 22 and a resident of Mississippi, was fatally wounded. On January 16, 2010, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Sanchez was shot once in the chest in the 7800 block of Means Avenue.
