The incident occurred in the City Heights neighborhood, where Julian and his wife, Reyna Gonzalez, were fatally shot by Juan Carlos Fernandez, the ex-husband of their daughter, Isabel Gonzalez. The shooting took place in the courtyard of their apartment complex on Marlborough Avenue.
