On a Tuesday evening in Baltimore, the life of Darnell Rice, a 30-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On September 19, 2017, at approximately 8:03 p.m., the sound of gunfire echoed through the 1900 block of Maryland Avenue in the Station North neighborhood. When the noise subsided, Rice was left with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest.
