In the early afternoon of a Tuesday in Baltimore, the life of a young Black or African American man, Edward Hursey, was tragically cut short. On October 04, 2016, the 25-year-old male was sitting on the porch of a vacant house in the 3300 block of Cliftmont Avenue. The autumn day was shattered by the sound of gunfire as a suspect, positioned on the porch of another empty house just a few doors down, opened fire.
Struck by the initial volley of shots, Hursey attempted to flee for his life.
