On January 24, 1987, Charles Robert Anderson, a 35-year-old Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was tragically killed in his home in Burbank, California. Anderson had just returned home with his family from a visit to his in-laws. While his wife, Beth, waited in the car due to a back injury, Anderson went inside to put their oldest son to bed.
