Michael Fletcher, a 49-year-old Black male, was tragically shot and killed on January 19, 2022, in Hollywood, Florida. Fletcher, affectionately known as "Flex," was the owner of Flex Tint Shop, a business he had built from the ground up. On the morning of his death, Fletcher was unloading his car outside his shop when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred shortly before 10:50 a.m. at 5819 Rodman Street.
Despite being rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital by Hollywood Fire Rescue, Fletcher was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Fletcher's death left his family and community in deep mourning. He was a beloved figure, known for his generosity and dedication to his family and business. His family was in the midst of planning a celebration for his upcoming 50th birthday, which he was eagerly anticipating. Instead, they found themselves preparing for his funeral. Fletcher is survived by his wife, Sophie Fletcher, and his daughters, Brittany and Jada Fletcher.

Detectives from the Hollywood Police Department have released images of a suspect and are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating the individual responsible for the shooting. The suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a gray 2014 to 2016 Mazda 6 sedan with Florida license plate QSAI63. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Hollywood Police Department or Broward County Crime Stoppers.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The police are diligently working to piece together the events leading up to Fletcher's death, reviewing surveillance footage and following up on leads.
