Bruce Spry, aged 42, tragically lost his life on June 20, 2021, in Lake Wales, Florida. Bruce, originally from Lake Wales, had moved to Bradenton, Florida, where he lived with his wife Pamela and their children. He was a dedicated auto technician, known for his skills and commitment to his work at Gettle Toyota. On the evening of his death, Bruce was attending a gathering when an altercation occurred between him and Tex Gifford, a 40-year-old man from Sebring, Florida.
The argument escalated, and Gifford left the scene, only to return shortly after with a firearm. He shot Bruce at least six times, resulting in Bruce's immediate death.
The Lake Wales Police Department launched an investigation into the incident. Officer Emmanuel Viera, who was patrolling the area, heard the gunshots and arrived at the scene to find Bruce unresponsive. Despite efforts by emergency responders, Bruce could not be revived.
