Bobby Bernard Hopkins, a 36-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on May 22, 2021, in Gainesville, Florida. On that fateful day, Hopkins was at the Swamp Car Wash on East University Avenue when he was shot in the chest. Despite his efforts to seek help by calling 911, he succumbed to his injuries at UF Health Shands Hospital. The incident left behind a grieving family, including his two minor children.
