Kendrick Demonte Bostic, a 20-year-old resident of Tallahassee, Florida, tragically lost his life on April 10, 2020. The incident occurred on the southwest side of Tallahassee, specifically in the 2000 block of Autumn Lane. On that fateful day, Bostic and another individual were outside a mobile home when they were suddenly attacked. Two men, identified as Marquese D. Owens and Andrew V. Watson, arrived at the scene in a silver Jeep SUV and opened fire.
Both Bostic and the other victim sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a local hospital. Unfortunately, Bostic succumbed to his injuries later that day, while the other victim was treated and released.
The Leon County Sheriff's Office quickly launched an investigation into the shooting. Detectives determined that the attack was not random but rather an isolated incident. Owens and Watson were identified as the primary suspects. They were arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with premeditated homicide, among other offenses. The investigation revealed that the suspects had fired several rounds from the roadway, targeting Bostic and the other victim. The suspects fled the scene before the authorities arrived, but the silver Jeep SUV was later located and linked to the crime.
In addition to Owens and Watson, a third individual, Travecia Walker, was also arrested in connection with the case. Walker faced charges of being an accessory after the fact. Initially placed on pretrial release, Walker was rearrested on similar charges but was released again shortly thereafter. The investigation into Bostic's death is ongoing, with the possibility of further arrests. The authorities have been cautious about releasing detailed information to avoid compromising the integrity of the investigation.
