In the autumn of 2015, the life of Gerald Avon Stokes, a 38-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. On the evening of Tuesday, November 10th, Stokes was in the 5200 block of Windsor Mill Road when he was fatally shot. The incident, which occurred at a bus stop, left him with multiple gunshot wounds. Police announced his death a few days later, marking another homicide in a year that saw a significant spike in violence in the city.
