In the summer of 2015, the life of Melvin Heckstall, a 41-year-old Black male from Baltimore, Maryland, was tragically cut short. Born on December 11, 1973, Heckstall was a familiar face in his East Baltimore neighborhood, known to some by the nicknames 'Man' or 'Big Shaq.' His life, however, came to a violent end on the night of Friday, August 14, 2015.
