Adrian Bogusiewicz, a 25-year-old resident of Pinellas Park, Florida, tragically lost his life on June 25, 2016. The incident occurred following a heated argument over beer between his parents, Irena and Waldemar Bogusiewicz. The dispute escalated when Adrian intervened to understand the cause of the commotion. Irena stepped outside to call the police, leaving Adrian and Waldemar alone in the house.
During this time, the argument between father and son intensified, leading Waldemar to shoot Adrian multiple times in his bedroom.
When officers Michael Jasiukiewicz and Jeremy Copeland arrived at the scene, they found Adrian suffering from gunshot wounds. Waldemar, armed and agitated, confronted the officers and fired at them. The officers returned fire, hitting Waldemar, who was later pronounced dead at Northside Hospital. Adrian was declared dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that alcohol played a significant role in the tragic events of that night. Multiple firearms were discovered in both Adrian's bedroom and the master bedroom during the police search.
The officers involved were placed on paid administrative leave as per department policy, pending an investigation into the incident. The autopsy results for both Adrian and Waldemar were pending at the time, but it was clear that the presence of alcohol had exacerbated the situation. This tragic event left the Bogusiewicz family and the community in mourning, highlighting the devastating impact of domestic disputes and alcohol-related violence.
