On February 10, 2024, at approximately 11:33 PM, the Pinellas Park Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 6600 block of 41st St N, Pinellas Park, FL. Upon arrival, officers found one victim, John Luke Jr., a 54-year-old male, deceased at the scene. A second victim, Brian Mikell, a 42-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation led to the identification and arrest of Austin Skonecki, a 30-year-old male from Largo, who was charged with two counts of felony murder in the first degree in connection with this incident. It was revealed that both victims and the suspect were acquainted with each other prior to the shooting.
There is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public, and the Pinellas Park Police detectives continue to actively investigate the incident. The police have stated that no further information is expected to be released at this time.
