Rashay L. Garrison, known by his stage name "Shay Baby," was a 29-year-old rapper from Gainesville, Florida, who tragically lost his life on May 2, 2016. Daniels fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police. He was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Daniels had a prior conviction for drug trafficking, which prohibited him from possessing firearms.

Winter's involvement included helping Daniels clean the rental vehicle used in the shooting with bleach in an attempt to remove any evidence.
