In the early morning hours of June 6, 2013, the body of 33-year-old Eric Henderson was discovered in an open field in Baltimore, Maryland. An African-American man, Henderson was found near a post office and the Cold Stream Recreation Center, located in the 3000 block of Homewood Avenue. The cause of his death was a single gunshot wound to the head, and paramedics who responded to the scene were unable to save him. He was pronounced dead at approximately 7:11 a.m.
